A tribute to Claude Courageux, master stained-glass artist

The Association Beauvais Cathédrale was saddened to learn of the death of Claude Courageux, a master stained-glass artist born in 1938, whose works form part of Beauvais’s artistic heritage.

At Saint-Pierre Cathedral, he notably created La Fontaine de Vie (The Fountain of Life), a stained-glass window made in 1981 for the baptismal chapel. He also worked at Saint-Étienne Church, leaving a legacy in both monuments that visitors can discover as they explore.

Through his work with glass, colour and light, Claude Courageux helped bring contemporary artistic expression into buildings steeped in history.

The Association Beauvais Cathédrale extends its sincere condolences to his family, his loved ones and all those who shared in his life and career.

His stained-glass windows will continue to draw visitors’ eyes and keep his artistic legacy alive.
